In a concerted effort to improve snow removal and street cleaning in the downtown Fairbanks core, the City of Fairbanks Public Works Department has placed proper signage prohibiting parking in the specified area from Wickersham Street to Noble Street and from 1st Avenue to 5th Avenue from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Mondays.Pursuant to FGC 78-389(b) – Parking during street cleaning and snow removal: When official signs prohibit parking during certain hours of the day are erected as authorized in this section, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle in such a designated place during the proscribed time.Commencing Monday, December 2, 2024, a “WARNING” will be issued to all vehicles parked in the service area as a reminder to move off the street unless road maintenance (snow removal/street cleaning) is in process. If snow removal IS in process, vehicles on the street will be towed at the owner’s expense. Moreover, on January 6, 2025, in coordination with the City of Fairbanks Public Works Department, Golden Heart Parking Services will begin citing all vehicles parked on the street within the area and during the time described above, provided road maintenance (snow removal/street cleaning) is NOT occurring. Please note that the citation amount is $60.00 plus an administrative fee. If road maintenance (snow removal/street cleaning) IS being performed, all vehicles parked on the street will be towed.Off-street parking is available in the Lavery Transportation Center (downtown parking garage) for $1.00 per hour. The parking garage entrance is located on 3rd Avenue, accessed from Noble Street.
