The Fairbanks Fire Department's Operations Division is currently staffed by 43 firefighters at 2 fire stations. Operations personnel work a 48/96 schedule and are divided into three platoons and supervised by a Battalion Chief. The firefighters respond to a wide variety of 9-1-1 calls to include: structure fires, wildland fires, motor vehicle accidents, vehicle extrication, water/ice rescue incidents, hazardous material incidents, and technical rescue incidents.
