The City of Fairbanks currently lacks the infrastructure to accept, sort, or separate recyclable materials. As a result, residents are encouraged to utilize the recycling services provided by the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) Central Recycling Facility. This facility is equipped to handle various recyclable materials and offers a comprehensive recycling program that aligns with regional environmental standards.
Residents seeking to recycle should visit the FNSB Central Recycling Facility's website for detailed information on accepted materials, drop-off procedures, and hours of operation. By using the Central Recycling Facility, residents can ensure their recyclable materials are processed efficiently and responsibly, contributing to the community’s sustainability efforts.
The Central Recycling Facility (CRF) is located at 1855 Marika Road in Fairbanks (in the Aurora subdivision) and is open Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, and Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. (We are closed on Sunday and Monday)
