I need information on a wildfire, what do I do?
- If you think you have spotted a new fire, please call 911 or 1.800.237.3633.
- For fire information please call 907.356.5511.
- For any other information, please go to the Alaska Wildland Fire Information website.
When to call 911
- Do you think you could be having a medical emergency? Call 911 so they can get all the information and dispatch the correct apparatus as needed
- Do you see smoke/a fire? Call 911 so they can determine if it is a planned burn or if it has already been called in
- Do you think you smell smoke or fumes in your home? Call 911 so they can dispatch the correct apparatus to make sure your home is safe
- All dispatches must go through 911. We cannot send an apparatus out without it going through dispatch

When to call the non-emergent dispatch line
- If you are planning on burning anything (brush, wood etc) you must get a burn permit through the department of natural resources and call dispatch to let them know you are burning
- If you are a business, and dispatch monitors your fire alarms, you must go through them for any issues
